HUDSON VALLEY 10s 2010

It was a beautiful day for rugby and it wouldn't be the Finest Rugby way if we were not waiting to see if we will have enough to start the game. But we did thanks to our guests from New York Rugby and a few Old Maroon faithful. In our first attempt to play Rugby 10s we were matched with NOJO. A bit confusing at first. It had the feel of rugby 15s but it was a bit faster but not to the speed of rugby 7s. We got blown out 5 trys to nil. Sloppy defense and over rucking was our down fall. However we did make up for it against Kingston as we blew them out 5 trys to nil. Our next match would not be till an hour and half later. So we made sure we hydrated in the hot sun. Org provided us with some mother's milk for recuperation. Our third game was with Montclair College and either the heat got to us or the long delay between games but we came out flat. Bad passing and missed tackles took over. We unfortunatle y missed playing in the playoff bracket by a point. None the less it was entertaining and a definite add on to next year's schedule.

Final tournament for the Finest Rugby Football Club for this year will be July 23, The Friday Night Ardsley 7s. Everyone is expected to come, even if 7s rugby is not your pleasure. It is a great night with food and beverages to follow at Bubba's Pub in Ardsley. Family is always welcomed. Approximate start will be 6 pm more info in the coming days. Get the time off, make the tour changes, give up your first born.
